Marlon Magnée

After fifteen years touring the world with La Femme, the band he co-founded (numerous gold records, Victoire de la Musique award, over 600 million streams, over 400,000 albums sold) and performed on the biggest stages in France and internationally (Accor Arena, Zéniths, Glastonbury, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza Chicago, Osheaga Montreal, etc.), Marlon is now returning as a solo artist with a debut album that reconnects him with his early passions.

It showcases his taste for unexpected combinations and his unique style: a mix of rockabilly, punk, cold wave, and psychedelic psychobilly. The tracks, in French and English, feature sixties guitars, an eighties “synth orgy,” powerful drum machines, analog delays, and a deliberately raw energy.

His influences are evident throughout the album: Velvet Underground, The Stranglers, Motörhead, The Cure, The Stray Cats, JJ Cale, the Nuggets compilations, but also French-speaking artists such as Gainsbourg, Les Rita Mitsouko, Métal Urbain, Plastic Bertrand, and Marc Charlan. The result is a fast-paced, edgy album (with tempos of up to 240 bpm) that is sometimes radical, designed “for those whose hearts are bleeding and who want to fight.”

Co-produced with Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao, Peaches) at the legendary Ferber studio, this album marks a true return to Marlon’s roots and powerfully heralds the return of rock to the current music scene.
